Kyoto

I attended a workshop on Chinese labor market in Kyoto.

The impressive point was that China had already reached Lewis Turning Point in 2003 though many economist pointed it from 2007 to now.

The lecturer showed factual evidences of the beginning of labor shortage around 2003.

More interestingly, according to his viewpoint, Chinese labor problem has been changing from the quantity issue to the quality issue, which includes changes in young generation about lifestyle, the way of thinking and so.

It's well known that most of workers in labor-intensive industry came back to their factories after this Shunsetsu, Chinese New Year, but they have been quitting more and more after that.
